Margaret Harrington is a multimedia artist, based in Los Angeles. Her current work encompasses both lighting pieces and paintings. Using the repetitive felting process, she binds wool fibers to create delicate fabric forms, which then transform into unique lighting pieces. This process requires significant preemptive planning and precision. In contrast, Harrington finds balance in the immediacy and intuitive nature of watercolor painting. She believes that her best work emerges from experimentation and openness in the studio. Her abstract paintings explore themes of personal relationships and the recall of memories, allowing for a spontaneous and fluid creative expression.
